What is the Edinburgh Tourism Innovation Challenge?
The Edinburgh Tourism Innovation Challenge (#ETIC17) is a series of events and funding programme that aims to promote data-driven innovation in Edinburgh's tourism sector.
Challenge Weekend
Cross-industry tourism and technology teams create data-driven outputs from tourism data.
Funding Application
The best ideas from the Challenge Weekend are invited to apply for up to £3,000 in funding for prototyping or conducting a feasibility study of their concept.
DataFest18 Fringe Event
The developed ideas are showcased at DataFest18 to an audience of tourism and technology experts.
The first stage of #ETIC17, the Challenge Weekend, took place on the 5th to 8th October 2017, at Codebase, Edinburgh.
Our winning team Budi, alongside runners up Team T, Geyser, A Team and Forge Pulse. will present their ideas at the ETAG Digital Solutions for Tourism Conference in October 2017.
All teams will receive a one-to-one follow up with a Scottish Enterprise innovation specialist, providing advice and connections to a range of potential follow on support. The Scottish Enterprise research service will also provide help to access market reports and other intelligence required to assist in concept development. This support will be provided alongside the opportunity for up to £3,000 of #ETIC17 Innovation Fund, sponsored by ETAG.
